Velma E. Williams King of Gardendale, AL was born on Saturday, June 23, 1923 and passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the age of 94. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was very much loved and will be greatly missed. Mrs. King was a member of the Cordova Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Albert P. King and her daughter-in-law, Pam King. She is survived by her two sons, Jerry King and Jimmy King (Jimmie Lynn); her grandchildren, Kellie Peavy, Jerry Jr., Katie Ferraro, Jimmy Jr., and Jeff; great grandchildren, Dalton, Alex, Alyssa, Jacey, Tripp, Jack, Colton, Lanee, Chaney, Sophia, Lexee, and Lawson; a host of nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A chapel service will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel at 12 noon with a visitation beginning one hour prior. Interment will follow in Oakwood Memorial Gardens.
