Wanda Louise Duke, a lifelong resident of Hayden, Alabama, passed away peacefully on February 10, 2026, surrounded by her family. We are comforted to know that she is with her Savior and her parents, Zed Armstrong and Jerlene Foster Armstrong.
She is survived by her children Denise (Brian) Ledlow, Cindi (Jason) Mays, and Kenneth (Kristie) Duke; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Charlotte (Mark) Hayes, Alton (Kay) Armstrong, Gary (Linda) Armstrong, Tommy (Kathy) Armstrong, and Ricky Armstrong, along with a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Wanda was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was so proud of her family and always gave hugs that made you feel wrapped in love. She was a nurse and worked with hospice patients for more than 25 years. This was a calling that allowed her to share her faith and to bring comfort when others needed help. She never left her patients without loving on them and telling them she loved them.
Wanda enjoyed drawing, cooking, and watching old western movies. She had a smile and laugh that filled the room. She loved everyone and will be missed more than words can say.
Family will accept visitors on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel, located at 2029 Decatur Highway, Gardendale, Alabama, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with service following at 11:00 a.m. Bro. Denny Armstrong will be officiating.
The final resting place will be at Hayden Cemetery, located on Hays Cemetery Road, Hayden, AL, 35079.
"Well done, thou good and faithful servant; enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." Matthew 25:21.
