PFC William David Parker, USMC, age 19, of Gardendale passed away in a tragic accident on Saturday, May 28, 2011 while home on leave from the Marine Corps. It is a comfort to his family and many friends that he died doing the things he loved most: fishing and being with his friends and family. He is survived by his parents, David F. and Gayle L. Parker, his sister, Courtney A. Parker, and numerous family and friends. As a beloved son, brother, friend and U. S. Marine, William continually set high standards for himself; he inspired hope, determination, and ambition in all who knew him. Always a source of great inspiration to everyone around him, "Wilbur," as he is known by his friends, will be greatly missed and never forgotten. The family will receive friends Friday, June 3, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at the funeral home followed by a graveside service at Moncrief Cemetery.
