Donald was born on August 17, 1956, in Taylor, Texas, to Albert (A.J.) Tschoerner Jr and Dorothy (Stojanik) Tschoerner. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School and later graduated from Jarrell High School.
Donald was married to Brenda Lynn (Rutkowski) Tschoerner on October 18, 1990. Together, they shared 35 years of marriage and many memories with their family and friends.
Donald worked at Wilsonart International in Temple for 18 years. In February of 2001, he made the decision to leave that career and become a full-time farmer and rancher, a role that fit him perfectly. He had a love for the land and found joy in hard work, especially if it involved time on his tractor, the International 806. His work ethic was strong and consistent, as he continued tending to his cattle and crops until just a couple of months before his passing.
From January 2004 through December 2024, Donald proudly served as President of the Moravian Club, a volunteer role he took great pride in. He dedicated countless hours to maintaining the club and its grounds, always making sure it was a welcoming place for others. Service came naturally to Donald — if something needed to be fixed or cared for, he simply did it.
A lifelong Catholic, Donald also volunteered his time at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, helping with maintenance and projects around the church grounds. One of Donald’s final and most meaningful accomplishments was the creation of the Veterans Memorial at Holy Trinity Cemetery. This memorial was Donald’s vision and his project from the very beginning. Through his dedication and persistence, he worked to have the entire memorial donated, planned, and constructed, personally seeing it through from the ground up. The Veteran’s Memorial was dedicated on November 11, 2025, and will proudly serve our veterans past and future.
Whether you called him Donald, Don, Donnie Daddy, Grandpa, or one of his many other names, he was always friendly, familiar, and easy to know. Donald never met a stranger. He was outgoing, always smiling, and never shy. He had a gift for conversation and made friends wherever he went. He loved being outdoors, driving around Corn Hill, and spending time cooking and making new recipes. Donald especially loved barbecuing and participating in BBQ cookoffs, where good food and good company came together, two things he enjoyed greatly.
Donald is survived by his wife, Brenda Tschoerner; his sons, Russell Allen Tschoerner and wife Samantha Amidon, and Craig Andrew Tschoerner and wife Megan Tschoerner; his grandchildren, Cody Tschoerner, Sadie Tschoerner, Kaleb Amidon, and Caden Tschoerner; his mother, Dorothy (Stojanik) Tschoerner; his sisters, Sharon Lloyd and husband Kevin, Joyce Nemec and husband Ron; his niece, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; his Uncle Franklin Tschoerner.
Donald was preceded in death by his father, Albert (A.J.) Tschoerner Jr.; his grandparents, Albert and Frieda Tschoerner and Louis and Mary Stojanik; and his godparents, William (Bill) and Angeline Tschoerner.
Donald will be remembered for many things, but first and foremost for his friendly, talkative spirit. His legacy lives on in the land he worked, the community he served, and in the Veterans Memorial that stands as a lasting reflection of his dedication and service to others.
