

After celebrating her 81st Birthday with her family on December 25th Georgia E. Johnson Howell went to her Heavenly home on December 28th 2010. Georgia was born in Gregory, Texas, San Patricio County on December 25th 1929. Her life was joined with Norman W. Howell on February 1st 1948. After 62 years of being a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and 81 years of being a friend, mentor and confidant to countless people she will be greatly missed. Georgia is survived by her husband of 62 years, Norman W. Howell, her sister-in-law Bessie Graham of Georgetown, Texas and her niece Pat Anderson of Andice, Texas. Her wisdom will be passed on through her children Don Howell, Susan Adams, Elaine Wilson, Andy Howell and his wife Sandra all of Florence, Texas. She will be especially missed by her grandchildren James Sawyer of Bertram, Texas, Jason Sawyer of Hutto, Texas, Session Howell and wife Kate of San Antonio, Texas, Brand Howell and Heather Gilder of Pearland, Texas, Spc.Ty Howell 82nd Airborne, Fort Bragg, North Carolina, Georgia Wilson of Round Rock, Texas and Shylo Adams of Florence, Texas. Her memory will live on through her great grandchildren Hunter and Lily Howell of San Antonio, Texas and Meason Howell of Spring, Texas. Georgia’s legacy will endure through the memories of her family and friends, especially her love of gardening, fishing, hunting and shooting her beloved 22 rifle. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, December 31, 2010 in Gabriels Funeral Chapel & Crematory in Georgetown. A service to celebrate her life and faith will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 1, 2011 in the First Baptist Church of Florence with Brother Roy Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Florence City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the Howell family is asking that donations be made to the Florence Public Library.
