

James (Jim) Nicholas Barth, 68, of Georgetown, TX, passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2019. He was born October 22, 1951 in Belleville, Kansas, the son of Frank John and Estella Irene (Baxa) Barth.
Jim graduated from Belleville High School in Belleville, Kansas and obtained degrees from Kansas Technical Institute and Kansas State University in Electronic Engineering Technology. He served in the Army from 1972-1979. His hobbies included photography, hiking, gardening, and cast iron cookware restoration. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and ran the church sound system for many years.
Jim married Malia June Weide on May 23, 1981. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Anne M. Barth of Kansas City. Survivors include his wife Malia, and children, Dr. Erin Lalime and husband Michael of Laurel, Maryland, Kay Barth, Christina Holder, and Nicholas Barth of Georgetown, Texas, two grandchildren, Gavin and Skye Holder of Georgetown, Texas, and two brothers Jeff Barth of San Jose, California and Dr. Eric Barth and wife Deb of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at First United Methodist Church in Georgetown, TX. Inurnment will take place at 10 a.m Monday, December 16, 2019 at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, TX.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church, 410 E University Ave, Georgetown, TX 78626 to support the audio-visual services fund, or a charity of your choice.
