

Jeanne Everts Brown, 60, of Leander and Belton passed away on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 in San Antonio with her family gathered at her side. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, 393 North IH35, Georgetown, Texas 78628. A memorial service celebrating Jeanne’s faith and her life will be held on Sunday, June 19, 2011 at 2:00PM at Christ Lutheran Church, 510 Luther Drive, Georgetown, Texas. Jeanne’s wishes were to be laid to rest at the Christ Lutheran Columbarium. Jeanne was born on August 22, 1950 in Waterloo, Iowa to Marvin George and Marcedes Jean Allan Everts. Jeanne was raised in the Parkersburg area; she received her beautician’s license in 1969. Jeanne married the love of her life and her partner, David Alvin Brown, on December 28, 1971 in Parkersburg, Iowa. They started their life and their family together in the Marshalltown/Conrad area. Jeanne opened her own beauty salon in Conrad, calling it “Headquarters”; she operated the salon for over 20 years. David and Jeanne moved to Leander, Texas in June of 1992. In 1993, she began working as a substitute teacher for the Leander ISD. Jeanne loved her little kindergarteners and enjoyed her time working in the library. She will be truly missed by all those little lives she touched so deeply. David and Jeanne have been active members of Christ Lutheran Church since 1992. Jeanne will be remembered for many things, one of which was her quilting and sewing. Her daughters will cherish the prom dresses she lovingly made for them. Jeanne was a loving wife, mother and wonderful “Nana” to “Sambo”; she will be remembered for her loving ways, her stern way of dealing with life and for always being the pristine lady that loved her family and friends. Jeanne leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 40 years, David A. Brown of Leander; children, Elizabeth Hicks and her husband Robert of Belton, Monica Brown and her fiancé Daniel Harper of Waco, Sean Brown of San Marcos; parents, Marvin and Marcedes Everts of Parkersburg, IA; brothers and sisters, Randall Everts and his wife Debbie, Robert Everts and his wife Brenda, Lorri Hodgden and her husband David and Linnea Leto and her husband Joe; and her beloved grandson, Samuel “Sambo” Hicks; along with a host of other loving friends and family members. Memorial donations in Jeanne’s memory should be made to Christ Lutheran Building/Columbarium Fund, 510 Luther Drive, Georgetown, Texas 28628.
