John married Bobbie Lou Hausenfluck on June 29, 1946, at the Georgetown Church of Christ. They Celebrated 73 years of marriage together before Bobbie passed in 2019.
John is survived by his sister Betty Madsen, brother James Lambert; his children Kay, Cindy, Melissa, and Johnny; grandchildren Joe, Stacy, Christy, Melissa, Jeremy, Crystal, Kimberly, J.D., Leanne & Evelina; fourteen great grandchildren; and three Great-Great Grandchildren.
John was enlisted in the United States Army as a Medical Technician in April of 1946 and was Honorably discharged in January of 1947. After his time in the Army, he went on to work for the United States Postal Service for 30 years.
When John Retired, he and Bobbie spent many years traveling all over the U.S. and into Canada. They loved attending Bluegrass festivals and seeing new places. The spent many summers taking all the grandkids camping at local parks. John was also a hobby woodsman and spent many days in his workshop building bird houses, Kleenex box holders, wooden butterflies among many other things.
John never knew a stranger and would sit and talk with anyone he came across. Bobbie would regularly ask “did you know them?” and his response would be “I do now!” If you spent any time with him at all he would tell you what a blessed man he was, and how much he truly loved his family.
We find solace in knowing that John was a man of Christ and is rejoicing at the sight of heaven and being reunited with Bobbie after nearly four years apart.
