He was born on September 16, 1985 in Austin, TX. To all who knew Joshua, he had a smile and laughter that could light up every room. He touched the lives of every person he met. Joshua was a beloved son, brother, cousin, friend, co-worker, and dog dad. He shared his life with his family and many friends and would leave at the drop of a dime to be there for anyone.
Joshua grew up playing many sports including baseball, football, track, and basketball. He mainly spent his time playing baseball at NAO and at Pflugerville High School where he met some of his lifelong friends. Joshua was the type of person who was always cracking jokes with his teammates and making the game more fun.
Joshua graduated from Pflugerville High School in 2004. He then went on to Texas State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice in 2009. After his schooling, he went on to work at National Alliance Insurance Company and Dell Technologies. Joshua worked within Dell for 6 years where colleagues expressed how his dedication and contagious laughter were unmatched.
Joshua loved attending concerts of his favorite Texas Country artists. He loved football season for the tailgates, the Dallas Cowboys, and the Texas Longhorns. He loved a good pair of flip flops, being outdoors, and going to the ranch with family and friends. The ranch was one of his favorite places where he felt relaxed and free. He loved taking trips to Shreveport and Vegas to play roulette and bet on his favorite number, 14!!! During his downtime, he’d watch YouTube videos, binge-watch Friends, The Office, and spend time with his Rhyder pup.
Joshua is survived by his parents, Lydia and Ruben Garcia and Michael Maldonado; his brother Garrett Maldonado and girlfriend Micah Rueter; sister Lexi Castillo and husband Chris Castillo; sister Nicole Garcia and boyfriend Adrian Guevara; sister Mariah Maldonado; step sister Amber Aguilera; and his best pup Rhyder Maldonado. Grandparents; Manuel Arellano, Elisabeth Garcia, Alice and Joe Maldonado. And lots of aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends that he loved dearly.
