
Kelley W. Griffin was born in Huntington, Texas on July 8, 1920 and passed away on November 20, 2007 in Georgetown, Texas where he had lived since 1998. He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Flora Griffin and a son, Michael William Griffin. Kelley grew up in Lufkin, Texas where he attended Lufkin High School, Satterwhite Business College, and was employed by Lufkin Industries as a salesman until retirement in 1983. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S. Savannah. While serving his country he met and married Joan Kelly from Boston, Massachusetts. Kelley lived a full life enjoying square dancing, riding horses, water sports, traveling, bridge, and golf. His retirement years were spent in Pharr, Texas and Sun City Texas. Kelley is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan, his son John Kelley Griffin and wife Nila of Houston/Georgetown, Texas granddaughters, Natalie Thompson and husband Todd of Houston and Stefanie Krebs and husband Richard of San Antonio. He is also survived by three great-grandchildren, Alyssa Kelley Krebs of San Antonio and Judson Payne Thompson and Peyton Leigh Thompson of Houston. Kelley is also survived by a brother Ray Griffin and wife Sharon of Dallas. A Rosary will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at 7:00p.m. in The Gabriels Funeral Chapel, with mass at Santa Rosa Catholic Church at 11:00a.m.Wednesday in Andice, Texas. Burial will be in Lufkin, Texas at Garden of Memories.
