Tom was born on September 20th, 1947, in Charleston, West Virginia. He was the son of Roy Frist of Charleston, West Virginia, and Dorothy Frist of Florence, Texas.
Upon completion of high school in Charleston, he moved to Texas to attend Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas. He was employed with the state of Texas as an environmental investigator until his retirement. Tom resided in Florence for almost 50 years and enjoyed hunting, making hot sauce, restoring vintage cars, and playing poker.
Tom is survived by his five daughters: Melanie Frist, Mary Frist, Jenny Harder, Heidi Frist, and Haley Isbell. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
