I met Walt 7 or 8 years ago at a training class at the State Auditors Office and we hit it off really quickly and have been work friends ever since.  Professionally Walt was my go to person whenever I needed anything from IT or had a question about who we needed to contact.  He was always so helpful and considerate.

On a personal note, I will really miss our conversations/discussions about the Round Rock Express, the Houston Astros, and baseball in general.  He will be greatly missed

Walt was my office mate for years. He was a great friend and would always be the first to help anyone. I was new to this country and he was always a great guide. In 2000, I had to move temporarily to an apartment on the third floor as my new house was getting delayed, Walt helped me in the move. I remember, He effortlessly carried a 27" CRT TV all the way up. As it would not fit in the TV slot, he offered to take it home and then temporarily loan me his 21" TV . He then walked down with the TV  and next day brought me his 21" TV. He was always the first to help anyone. Walt - we will all miss you.

In the course of a lifetime it is very rare that a person gets the opportunity to come across a man that possesses the class and character of Walt Romanowski.  I was fortunate to be one of those people.  I got to know Walt when I was a high school softball coach and he along with several others got me interested in umpiring.  Little did I know that it would lead to many years of traveling with Walt across the state of Texas umpiring fast pitch softball.  More importantly, it led to a friendship that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Not only was Walt a great umpire......but he was an even better man. He knew how to treat people and this earth was a better place with him on it.  I’m gonna miss my friend, but I’ll never forget him.

I met Walt in and around 1998. We  worked together on many youth girls softball tournaments over the years. He was the UIC and had quite a calming effect on upset coaches who thought they knew all the rules, but they were no match for Walt. He knew the rule book, like he knew his name. He was always mild mannered, soft spoken, and was so proud of his children, and loved his grand children. He was a dear friend.
RIP Walt

My husband and I first met Walt at Capital Bowl many years ago.  He and the girls were bowling and we had a chat and I asked if they wanted to join the youth league.  The next Saturday, there they were!  Walt was an amazing dedicated parent.  Years later, we had the opportunity to work together.  He was our go to guy on getting things ironed out many times.  Walt - we will all miss you.

Walt, you will be sorely missed.

Walt was my main IT audit contact at HHS for the past six years.  He was always so very helpful and wanted to make sure that you had everything you needed to get your job done.  He and I worked some large audit items together and he was always the very best kind of person.  His kindness and his knowledge will be greatly missed.  Heaven just received one of the great ones!

Walt was one of those special few that could rise above the storm and point out the sun. He made it look easy to follow the rules. Shen you say someone was true blue, Walt was even when he wasnt wearing his blue uniform. Walt didnt look for the outs, he looked for the smile. God bless you Blue.

Walt worked at our agency for 30+ years. His positive attitude and desire to always be of service to others made him an invaluable member of our team. On a personal note, he was one of the most loyal and special people that I have worked with in my career, and he will be greatly missed as a coworker, team lead, and friend.
