Alma Rosa Lujan was born on August 29, 1955. She was one of 9 children in her family. Alma married and raised three beautiful daughters, dedicating her life to her family. Though she spent most of her years in California, she made Waco, Texas her home in 1997.
A hard-working woman through and through, Alma did everything she could to provide for her loved ones—until recent years when health challenges limited her mobility. Despite that, her joyful spirit never dimmed. Alma was known for her radiant smile, contagious laughter, and love for dancing. Her favorite joys included cooking delicious meals, listening to music, watching telenovelas, and sipping her beloved Coca-Cola.
Those who knew Alma will remember her as patient, loving, kind-hearted, generous, and deeply compassionate. She had a special place in her heart for animals and was a proud dog mom to her rescue pup, Choco.
Above all, Alma was unapologetically herself—a straight shooter who told it like it was, with honesty and heart.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alejandro Lujan and Eulogia Martinez; her brother, Guillermo “Willie” Lujan; and her granddaughter, Jessica Meza.
Alma is survived by her devoted husband, Trancito Ortiz; her three daughters Irene Gonzales, Blanca Camacho, Leticia Bullion, and two son in law’s.
She leaves behind eleven beloved grandchildren, ten cherished great-grandchildren, and one treasured great-great grandson.
Alma was dearly loved and will be missed beyond words by all who were lucky enough to know her.
