Dear Mom, it has been a little over a year since you were taken from us and we, me, Laura, and Mary miss you so much. A lot of changes have taken place and I know you would love it all. But, I know you are in the presence of the Savior doing two of your favorite things, dancing and singing. When my time has come to meet the Savior, I hope yours is the second face I see.  I was thinking about you the other day, the 13th and I wrote this for you; Although you are not here with us, you will always be in our hearts. I love you Mom

     My Dearest Mama.  I know you now reside with our Heavenly Father and we wait to see you again in heaven.  We are glad we were able to bring sunshine and laughter into your life when your ill health got in your way.  We are grateful for the army of good friends God put in our lives to help take care of you.  And what a great compliment it was for Andy when you said, “This sour Sauerkraut taste just the way my grandma made it.”  You will always be our enthusiastic eater.
Finally I'm grateful it was I you trusted to share your darkest fears with and I am honored that I could be there for you and hold your hand during that time.  I love you mama and I know you are with me always.  Thank you for believing in me.  It meant everything!

Betty - I remember you as a nice lady who was so proud of her family. It was a pleasure to have known you.

Grandma, hearing stories about your life from your children and grandchildren has really made me smile. You were an amazing person. Funny. Hard-working. Lively. Beautiful. One of my tallest regrets in life will be that I didn't take the time to truly get to know you personally. You were a treasure and I really missed out. I'll never forget the Christmases spent at your house and seeing your beautiful smile. And, of course, the cute socks you were always so faithful to provide your grandchildren with. If there was one thing I knew for certain, it was that you loved to dance. So, someday, I promise that when you're dancing for God and all His goodness in heaven, I'll be dancing right there with you. I love you, Grandma. You will be missed.

Betty, while I never go to know you, I know you through the kindness of your children and grandchildren.  I was blessed to have gotten to know Terry and Laura as a young girl, and they were and continue to be awesome ladies and friends.  Having you for a mother to guide them probably made them as special as they are.  Brittaney and Julianna, you two are great kids...I loved having you in my life over the years through girl scouts.  RIP, Betty.
