Dear Aunt Bridie, I love you and will miss you dearly. I am blessed to have you as a big part in shaping who I am today. That is all because of your Faith and Great Family Values. I can not put into words how lucky we all are  for you showing us the values of Faith, Love, and Family. 
My Dad comes from a very large Loving Family, growing up I had the honor to spend time with them all. Aunt Bridie we practically lived with and spent many weekends with. I will treasure those memories forever.

Bridie’s passing left a deep sadness in my heart. She was a sweet, loving, fun to be with sister-in-law who always made me feel welcomed and special. Auntie Bridie, such a wonderful person, special to me as I share your name. I will remember very happy trips to California, meeting new cousins, enjoying your unique sense of humour, your 'standing for no nonsense' attitude, your zest for life and positivity.

Dear Aunt Bridie,
I am saddened by your passing. You were such an example to us all. Even your last days were filled with spirit, strength and good humour.
You touched our lives and brightened our days. When you would visit us from America, I remember my father always being excited to see you. And as I grew up, I learned why and felt the same way.
Eventually, I could repay the compliment and visit you in America. I still have the silver dollar you gave me.
We have been lucky to have you.

I didn’t know my Aunt Bridie very well when I was a child but I did know she was special because my mother loved her so much. It was only later on in my life when Aunt Bridie and Uncle Thomas took me into their home while I was going through a difficult time in America, God only knows where I would have been without them. I remember that old saying, “never judge a book by its cover”.  Well in this case I would - their four sons being the book and you both being the cover. May Gods light shine on you.


Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother or Friend no matter what you called her we were all blessed to have had her in our lives.
      We were so happy to have spent time with you in June of 2016. We enjoyed seeing your home and garden, that you were so proud of. We shared stories at your bar in the house and at the party Pat and Sue threw for us. The sing song we had at the table that night will forever be etched in our minds. 
     Until we meet again, May God Bless you.

Memories are wonderful and will never fade. Our wee Auntie Bridie! We loved when you came to visit us in Ireland and how you brought everyone together with your love and laughter. So lucky to have been able to visit you at home in California and spend happy days with you and your beautiful family who we love so much.

Every memory of Auntie Bridie is one of great fun – her visits here when I was little, or our first visit to California, staying at her house and having a big party at her bar with all these ‘new’ cousins. And even more so in recent years, always great fun, great stories, first to the dancefloor and last to leave a party. I loved her warmth, her positivity, her outlook on life, and will miss her very much.

Sending lots of love to all the family in California, here and everywhere, and praying for strength and love for all of you tomorrow and beyond.

Where do we start ? How do we start ? She was a force of nature. Everybody loved her energy, her joy, her love of music and dance,
her cosmic practice of tai chi and her devotion to her God, her husband and her family.

Not adverse to a bit of “sparkle”, I called her the beautiful magpie.

There are no adequate words to describe  this dynamo, this life well lived. We pray she is no longer in pain and is back with the family who went before her, and is organising them in true Bridie fashion.

There was nothing we couldn’t talk about, and we did, for hours at a time.  And laugh, what can I say, you know what is in my heart and soul. I love you Bridie, I always will.

My memories of Auntie Bridie start in the Glen Road where she came to help with the preparation of food for her own party. She loved to meet family and friends on her visits to Ireland. She gave us all a great boost when she was here; always leaving with a tear because she was leaving her sisters, brothers and extended family but she was happy going back to her family whom she was devoted to.
Visits to California were amazing because of her personality and joy; everyone was made welcome and encouraged to do their party piece ( all Mc Cormicks had their own particular talents).  Your family here will always have a special place in our hearts for you and we continue to pray for your family to keep them safe.
May you rest in peace with God and his mother Mary.

Bridget (Bridie) Hennebry 

Auntie Bridie  – beloved wife of Thomas, loving mother of Brian, Thomas, Sean and Patrick. 
Through her great faith and devotion to the Divine Spirit auntie Bridie found the strength to live her final months and days with unbelievable dignity and inspiration.
Every conversation with her in her latter days was full of joyful reminisces of a wonderful family life and the times we spent together. We always felt stronger for talking to her even though she was fully aware of the short time she had left with her family.  She was in her own words “content and ready to meet her Lord” and only hoped that her dear family would not grieve too much and understand that it was her time to leave.
Her zest for life was infectious and it was always a gift to be in her company, particularly in her home with her sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildren whom she adored. 
Who can forget those four majestic trees which adorned her and Uncle Thomas’s driveway.  Her “four strong sons”, as she referred to the trees, were a great source of pride and joy as she watched them grow to full maturity during her life in Devannah Street.
We trust in the Lord and will continue to pray that all of her close loving family circle will find the resolve in their loving memories to cope with their loss. That they will also know and understand that she lived a full and joyous life with her family and is now at rest in the arms of our Holy Family.
Auntie Bridie, may your strong faith continue to strengthen us all. We will always hope and pray that you enjoy the eternal happiness that you believed in and so richly deserve.
Our memories and love for you will live forever.
May eternal rest be granted onto her and may the Blessed Mother comfort all of your grieving family at this sad time.

Bridie was one of the sweetest ladies I’ve ever met!  I loved her zest for life.   One of my favorite pictures from Kyle and Jenna’s wedding was this one with Kyle.  She sure loved to dance❤️  She will be missed. 

Dear Aunt Bridie, where do I began.  When I met you I thought “ this lady is crazy”.  Crazy fun was right.  You were always there with a wee laugh, hug and a good story.  I can’t thank you enough for all you did for the family.

Hennebry Family so sorry to hear this news! Some of my best childhood memories were our yearly camping trip at San Onofre and lo and behold when we arrive to our camping spot our neighbors the Hennebry‘s we’re camping right next to us. Five or six days of going up and down the Bluffs walking to the candy store and doing all the things that kids these days miss out on😔 Of course as a kid it was Mrs. Hennebry we did not use first names. Always loved her Irish accent and all the memories. RIP

I met you as the future bride of my great Uncle Tom. You arrived from Ireland all dressed up and a bundle of joy and energy. You changed the landscape of my life forever. I was 4. I watched you bring four little bundles home from the hospital. Brian, Tom, Sean And Pat. I saw you struggle with life and down times but you always laughed and smiled and sang a song of life.  I was a witness to marriages, grandchildren , great grandchildren and losses. I will miss you not as my aunt, my friend, my family, but as my hero. Love you always, Rest In Peace your journey is complete.

Love and prayers to you all from the Hennebry/Mervyn clan in Ireland boys.  You are all very much in our thoughts.   Mum in particular sends her love to you and will be putting pen to paper in the next few days, so expect a letter.  

You all were a very big part of my growing up, our visits to see you all, the fuss you made of us, and the big outpouring of love we always felt in our time with you all.  Aunt Bridie was loved greatly, and I will always have my little shamrock pin, to not just remind me of our Granny Dorothy, but Aunt Bridie.  God Bless and love to you all.
