My deepest condolences to Carlos’s family, Carlos and I coached football together at the JV level at La Puente H.S. we won 3 straight league titles with only he and I as the staff members. No greater coach or better man to be around.

He was a down to earth civics teacher. I remember him telling us in life always pay yourself first before anything, in other words save money when you can. La puente high school 2001 Rest in peace sir

As mere high school students we simply could not know or begin to understand the impact this single individual would have on our lives regardless of how very clever we thought we were.
Somehow even as heady teenagers we instinctively felt something different in Carlos. You could never put your finger on it, but it was there. I think it might have been his expectation of us. He expected our input and welcomed our opinions regardless of how ill-informed we or our thoughts might have been.
He allowed the space for contribution and the exchange of ideas to happen without the need of right or wrong. His expectation of us was just to think… which allowed us to do just that.
Thank you, Carlos...for everything.

Mr Magallanes made an impression on his students. He was such a fun teacher to have. 
In my year boos he wrote “ I wish you much success and I want to hear you marries a ready to die multi millionaire and you inherited all his money”. He was so funny!  My condolences to his family and the Heavens gained another Warrior Angel. RIP Mr Mags!!
