

She was born Carolyn Ann Delfino to her parents, Frederick Delfino and Elizabeth Elonich, in Erie Pennsylvania. Carolyn had 5 siblings. She had four brothers, Fred, Michael, Chester, and Tony, and one sister, Katie. As a young girl, Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her siblings and cousins. She was nicknamed "Cuzzie" by her cousins, which became her nickname to her friends as well.
Carolyn attended Sacred Heart School for grades 1st through 8th. She enjoyed her High School years at Villa Maria Academy, an all girl's Catholic school in Pennsylvania. Carolyn’s practical work ethic carried over into her college years. She earned a Certificate in Childcare at Father Baker's Our Lady of Victory School.
On April 25, 1964 Carolyn exchanged wedding vows with Eric Swift at St. Brigid's Parish of Buffalo, New York. One of Carolyn’s most endearing qualities was her uncanny ability to remember important dates and anniversaries, always sending notes and cards, and her unending enthusiasm for organizing a celebration for her family and friends.
Family was extremely important Carolyn. She was blessed with one child, her daughter, Amy. Carolyn and Amy had an unbreakable mother-daughter bond. They loved spending time together. Carolyn was so proud of her family. She also loved her son in law, Tony, very much. The true light of her life was her grandson Beau. Their bond was like no other. Being Beau's grandmother, known as "Nonnie," was her most treasured and important part of her life. Her love for Beau could not be put into words. To Carolyn, family was love.
Carolyn's primary occupation was a Medical Secretary. She was employed for 18 years at Glendale Memorial Hospital, and another 20 years for a Doctor's Office of Cardiology.
Some of Carolyn's favorite pursuits were reading, going to movies, drawing, doing puzzles, shopping at Target, going to Disneyland, and spending time with family and friends. She enjoyed monthly game nights and potlucks, which always included Bingo!
Faith was very important to Carolyn. She held high moral standards and loved going to church. For that reason she held deep spiritual beliefs that she was willing to share. She was a member of Sacred Heart Parish in Covina, California for over 30 years. During that time, she was actively involved in the Religious Education Department. She also was very involved in Charity work. She had a long list of prayer intentions, and would gladly include anyone that needed prayer. Carolyn was faithful in daily prayer, loved praying the rosary, and loved the lives of Saints.
Carolyn loved to take small trips and vacations. Favorite vacations included a cross country road trip, a Hawaiian Cruise with her cousin, and many visits to Pennsylvania, and Northern California to visit family.
Carolyn passed away on August 16, 2016 at Intercommunity Hospital in Covina, California. She is survived by her daughter, Amy; her grandson Beau; her brothers Michael, Chester, and Tony, and her sister Katie. Services were held at Sacred Heart Church in Covina, California. Carolyn was laid to rest in Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora, California.
All who knew her would agree that Carolyn had a strong faith, strong will, and a love for life. She was willing to share her ideas and knowledge for the benefit of others, so that they could accomplish more in their lives. Carolyn Ann Swift did her best to ensure that her family, friends, loved ones, co-workers, and everyone whose life she touched was given the chance to become a better person.
