

Charles William Halsey, Sr. lost his battle with lung cancer at the age of 64. He passed away surrounded by family Saturday, January 19, 2013 in Perris, California. A graduate of Meadow Bridge High School class of 1968. He was employed for the last 38 years with R.W. Lyall & Co. An avid horseshoe player he competed in the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association. He spent his free time gardening, woodworking and enjoyed playing card games. He attended the First United Methodist Church of Santa Ana. He served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1971. At the time of his death he was married to Evelyn of Santa Ana. He is survived by brothers: Donnie Halsey, Meadow Bridge, WV, Russell Halsey, Barberton, OH, Bernie Halsey of Springdale, WV, and his sister Susie Wright, Gaithersburg, MD. His daughters: Zoan Mancenido, Fontana, CA., Sonia Bocanegra, Murrieta, CA., Naomi Halsey and Katie Halsey-Salvador, Perris, CA. His grandchildren: James Halsey, Joshua Bocanegra, Caleb Bocanegra, Theodore Mancenido and Danielle Bocanegra. He is predeceased by parents: Doc and Edna Halsey, wife of 28 years Noemi Verduzco Halsey and son Charles W. Halsey, Jr. Funeral services held at Oakdale Memorial Park & Mortuary Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 10 am. 1401 S. Grand Ave., Glendora, CA 91740. Private Visitation for immediate family. Flag Ceremony and interment to follow at Oakdale Memorial Park.
