The life book of Diane D. Lockhart was opened on January 19th, 1949, in Los Angeles, California to the late Cleophus and Mary McCraw. She quietly departed this life at her home in West Covina, California surrounded by her family on March 28th, 2023.
As a child Diane attended the New Bethel Baptist church in Venice, California under the leadership of her late grandfather and founder the Reverend Luther McCraw. Realizing the importance of a good Christian foundation she would also bring her children to worship there as well.
Her mother Mary relocated to Dallas, Texas in 1956 where Diane completed her primary education. Mary eventually met and was remarried to Mr. Leamon Vault. In 1962 the couple decided to return to Los Angeles and had a son named Mark. Diane completed her secondary education there, graduating from George Washington Prep High School in 1967. In 1968 the family decided the suburb of West Covina, California was a better fit for them and called it home. Diane, striving to further her education after graduation, took courses at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, California.
Diane was gainfully employed at Wamo Manufacturing company where she met the late Arnold Lockhart Jr. The couple were later united in holy matrimony and to that union two children were born, Gary and Gale. Her sons were her life she was committed to raising them to be respectful and loving young men.
Diane had a passion for watching westerns and loved a good home cooked meal to go with it. Anytime she could get her son Gale to barbecue and watch Bonanza she was in heaven.
She was preceded in death by her father Cleophus McCraw Sr., her mother Mary Vault, stepfather Leamon Vault, her brother Cleophus McCraw Jr., and her son Gary Lockhart. She leaves to forever cherish her memory and mourn her passing son Gale Lockhart, brother Mark Vault, granddaughters Jasmine and Giana Lockhart, daughters-in-law Becki Lockhart and Anna Ortiz, and a host of family, friends, and loved ones.
