Eleanor passed away peacefully at her home in La Verne, California on January 2nd, 2026, at the age of 86. She was born on December 12th, 1939, in San Gabriel, California to Anthony and Genevieve Alvarez Ortuno of Azusa, Ca. Eleanor resided in Los Angeles County, her entire life moving from Azusa in 1979 to make her home in La Verne, Ca. for the next 46 years. She lived a beautiful life as a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Eleanor is preceded in death by her husband Arnold “Chino” Torres and survived by their three children Lisa R. Torres-McGuire (Timothy) of Riverside, Ca. Arnold A. of La Verne, Ca. and David V. (Nadine) of Fontana, Ca. She is a loving grandmother to 6 with 1 great grandchild, 8 nieces and 7 nephews. Eleanor is preceded in death by her sister Lillian Ortuno Cortez.
Services for Eleanor will be held at Oakdale Memorial Park in Glendora, CA on Friday, February 6, 2026. Sunset Chapel Service to begin at 2:00 PM with the Final Resting Service to immediately follow.
