

Eloy Salazar, 83, of Arcadia, California, passed away, Monday, October 17, 2016 at his home. A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, October 27, at St. Dorothy’s Catholic Church, 241 S. Valley Center Ave., Glendora, CA 91741. Eloy was born July 28, 1933, in Swastika, New Mexico to Gil and Laura Salazar. Eloy enlisted in the Navy and served in the Korean War. On August 8, 1959, he married his wife Dorothy in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Eloy was employed as a printer for most of his life. He was an avid Dodger fan, loved western music and music from New Mexico. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandsons.
Eloy is survived by his wife Dorothy Salazar, two daughters, Kathy Salazar of San Anselmo, CA, Cynthia Sims and her husband Darryl Sims of Glendora; three grandsons, Kyle, Garrette and Parker Sims; his brother Charlie Salazar; sisters Selma Gutierrez, Nora Lucero, Priscilla Lincoln, and Frieda Smith; as well as many nieces and nephews. Eloy was preceded in death by his parents, Gil and Laura Salazar; his brother, Gil Salazar Jr.; his sister, Beatrice Cordova; and son, Danny Arrelano.
