You always brightened my day every time I saw you or even a photo of you having a good time.  Thank you for being my adopted gramma! That meant so much to me.  I love you ! Until we meet again...bye for now. 

 My dearest Gladys. You were one of the funniest people  that I know. You always made me laugh. I’m going to miss you a lot. Thank you for so many wonderful memories. Thank you for stepping in to be a grandma to Nancy. That meant so much and shows what a loving person you were. Rest In Peace my dear friend.

Growing up with Mary since we were little girls, I have the most amazing memories of Gladys. I remember always thinking to myself how tall she was and how she drove her big white truck like no one's business. I loved visiting with her and Mary at her house on one of the steepest hills of my life. She was the first  person who ever made me fried green tomatoes. I loved when she use to take Mary and I thrift shopping from one place to the next. It's been a long time..but I'm happy you are together with your son Jesse. I will forever cherish the memories I have of you. Rip Gladys

My dear sister Gladys... I remember when you and I would go down to the river with our cane poles- you would catch catfish for our dinner. Hope there is fishing in heaven! I love you... You will be missed. Say "Hello!" to Dad, Mama, Virgil, Opal & Jessie for me.

Aunt Gladys.  I see my own mom in her face.  She was the mold for all the Rooks girls and a great role model she was.  
What I remember about aunt Gladys, is a bond that we shared when I was a little kid.  
I still have my glasses that I wore as a baby.  My mom always kept everything because she needed the memories.  
For some reason, I didn’t like wearing glasses as a two year old, and would hide them in the ivy.  Rumor has it that aunt Gladys was the only one who could make me show her where I hid them, by bribing me with ice cream.
I can still see her beautiful face.  Aunt Gladys was steady and patient.   Till this day, I can still see her fishing at the same pool for what seemed like forever.  Sometimes she would catch fish, sometimes I would wonder why she didn’t move on to the next pool.  I realize now that it wasn’t about catching fish, it was about patience and just enjoying the moment.  
I still laugh when I think about my brother Gary talking about how much he loved aunt Glady’s chili beans, and how they used to tear him up.  He would be gassy for days or weeks as the story goes, but they were that good that he considered it a good trade off. 
I will miss aunt Gladys, and every good memory.  I will also look forward to the day that I will see her again in heaven.  




What a beautiful aunt Gladys, I can see your beautiful legacy with a daughter so beautiful in spirit and warmth, Dolores, and Caroline you are so loving and kind. It was great spending time with you and Eric and seeing your grandmother, my aunt, surrounded by love and warmth, my wife Kim and I know that now you're home to be with Jesus!

I will miss you dearly G-Ma, but I will never forget you! The one thing we had in common was that we both wanted what was best for Mary and to see her happy.

You saw what was in my heart before I even knew what I had.  I’m so blessed that I met such a wonderful person, a beautiful soul and and a giving thoughtful grandmother such as you.

 I liked Gladys, she wasn't a complicated lady and was very warm to the people she met. She lived a long life; we should be so lucky. She was very open and honest in her opinions on what she saw and heard. I like that about her, she never minced words, which is good quality and standard to live by. I know she will be missed by those closest to her. My beautiful nieces Mary and Jessica were very close to her. With that being said, my heart goes out to these two beautiful ladies. Remember, death is not the end of time; only our lives here. It is, in fact, the beginning of eternal life with God. And that is the comforting thought you should retain as her grandaughters. Aja

I can remember going with my mom to Mrs Gladys house and she would always welcome us with open arms and always feed us and you couldn't say no lol. She was a beautiful person inside and out. She is now an angel amongst many of our loved ones there now. 
My deepest condolences to the Utley family. She is at peace 💜

I remember camping with you when i was very young ..... You were always so nice ..... I also remember you visiting your son and birdie upstairs and i would see you and run outside ..... Nice memories .... You will be missed by many

My great grandma, I love you so much words can’t even describe. I’m glad nico and I came down to visit you this summer and get to see you one last time. I just wish we could’ve had made more memories than what we already have. I love how you had us at your home swimming in the front, watching the dodgers game with you , and just running around in my diaper and hat. I love you so much grandma and I miss you so much.

Gladys my beautiful mother-in-law, my best friend and a wonderful grandmother. You were very much part of my family and friends. We laughed and cried together, I showed you how to make fried tacos and you showed me how to make chicken & dumplings. My mom showed you how to make tamales and you showed her how to make fried green tomatoes. I loved every minute we shared and missed the time we were apart. No matter what you have always been apart of my life, I’ll forever keep you in my heart. 

Our amazing great grandma, you will always hold a place in all of our hearts. You always have welcomed my brother and I with open arms. Your kindness and love, will never be forgotten. My favorite thing to do was eat your amazing spaghetti and sit there watching the Dodgers game with you. I am glad that I made the trip to come see you this summer before your passing, but I wish I could have spent more time together. We all love and miss you grandma.  Until we meet again...

My grandmother was loved by all who met her. She became everyone’s grandma and I was ok with that because I knew she was special and had a lot of love to give. I have so many memories to share I don’t even know where to start but one thing we both loved doing together was going to the movies at the Eagle Rock Plaza. We would go almost every weekend and watch anything and everything. Thank you grandma for loving me unconditionally and always being there for me even to the last moments of your life. You will always be by my side so this isn’t goodbye. Until I see you again, rest easy Gma.

Her daughter and son have blessed her with the greatest gift of being a grandmother to 3 granddaughters Carolyn, Mary and Jessica who blessed her with 4 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren who will treasure her memory.
