Guy Arthur Williams Jr, former mayor of Glendora (1982-1986) and Glendora Citizen of the Year 1984, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at home. He was 87 years old. He was a beloved brother, husband, father, and grandfather.
He devoted his life to others. He served in the Navy, was a member of Kiwanis, and other charities and organizations. He served as a council member for seven years and two terms as mayor for the city of Glendora, California. He worked diligently as the sole proprietor of Environment Control Systems, a land use planning company, and continued his dedication serving the city and its citizens. He was an avid fly-fisherman, and loved fishing in the Catskills, Big Bear, McCloud, and even the backyard pool.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Janice (Hoskinson) Williams, brother Frank Williams, sister-in-law Sally Williams, son Guy A. Williams III, daughter Suzanne (Williams) Jacobs, son-in-law Randell Jacobs, and grandson Hudson Jacobs.
