

Passed away on February 2, 2025 in Azusa, California after bravely fighting a nine year- long battle against cancer. James grew up in the East Los Angeles area, attending Hollenbeck Middle School, South Gate High School, graduating in 1969. He then attended Los Angeles Trade Tech College. James was in the printing industry for many years and then employed by MTA until his retirement in 2016.
Preceded in death by his mother Barbara Flores of South Gate, California. James is survived by his wife Linda Marquez of Azusa, daughters: Michelle Marquez, Christina (Danny) Mendez, Rachelle Salgado, Angela Marquez, stepson Michael Padilla and stepdaughter Valerie (Jason) Gatfield, grandchildren: Lora, Julian, Cameron, Penelope Marquez-Salgado, Noah Marquez-Munoz, Jessica, Isabella, Daniel, Mila Mendez, Alan Jr. (Alicia), Anthony, Lorenzo, Brian Salgado, Alexis Martinez, Vivian, Jesse Alanis, Milana, Dillon and Levi Gatfield, great grandchildren: Alivia, Alan Thomas Salgado, Faith, Angel and Arrya Coronado, sisters: Emily Martinez and Amalia Flores.
James will be remembered by his love of family, sports, music and his sense of humor.
He will be greatly missed by all!
