I just found out about Jim's passing... what a great man, great business man, trusted and hard working. The Toy Industry will miss him. Jim and Nancy V. hired me January 1987 as their rep for the Midwest for JESCO.  Selling Kewpie and Gumby & Pokie.  We worked together for many years. This was my first manufacturer to hire me as their rep and got me started in repping as I still enjoy doing today.  He had faith in me and to this day, I think of him and thank him for giving me the chance.... Tom and Family, my deepest Prayers for your loss, truly a Great Man.

Mr Skahill was a very hard worker and friend to Bonniebrook Historical Society (BHS).  Me, along with the other board members of BHS, extend our condolences and deepest sympathy to Marie, Tom and the entire Skahill family.    Over the many years we were privileged to work with      Mr. Skahill.  He told us to just call him “Jim” but that never seemed appropriate as we did want to show respect and recognition for all his important guidance and involvement with BHS.  Mr. Skahill often jumped through many hoops for us to have exclusive BHS Kewpie merchandise, in our gift shop, in time for our annual Open House and special events.  He often assisted with the promotion of BHS and our mission to educate about Rose O’Neill who created the Kewpie character at Bonniebrook. Those who knew him personally, understood he was a diligent worker.  Because of that work ethic, many lives were touched!   Mr. Skahill will be missed but we treasure the many important opportunities we had to work with him!!   

 My uncle Jim was the greatest. He helped me in so many ways and so much to stay focused and continue to get through college. There were so many times I was ready to quit.  He would encourage me to continue and I would.  Even after graduating, I told him, didn’t think I wanted to be a teacher.  He told me not to worry, something would come up at some point and I would  change directions. He was so right.  Uncle Jim taught me to be a person that continually learns. I took that to heart. I continually learn to this day. He was one of the wisest people I’ve ever known. 
I know, my uncle Jim was an awesome person to many people. I was so blessed to have him guide my life direction for a period of time.
I can’t thank my uncle Jim & aunt Marie enough.  I love you both more than you know.
