Jose Luken was a humble and religious man who invested his time in helping those in need. As a young man he was actively involved in church activities which persisted throughout his life span. Furthermore, his love for baseball persuaded him to coach several championship teams in his parish, becoming a mentor to many low income children. Later in life, he coached little league baseball in La Puente, CA in where he created several championship teams.
Jose Luken worked for R.E Job concrete company for 25 years as a cement finisher which entailed a 40 year membership to the Cement Masons union, Local 600. After retiring, Jose Luken dedicated his time to his wife, his children, and his grand-children. Nevertheless, he enjoyed taking long walks and spending time with his friends at the Senior Center in Baldwin Park, CA, in where he took pleasure in playing pool, playing cards, as well as in playing dominoes. Nonetheless, he still found the time to assist church mass every Sunday.
Jose Luken was a great humanitarian who loved God and loved his family. He will be missed.
