

Juanita Jones was born on February 9, 1932, in Prichard, Alabama, to her parents, Jerry and Mary Kennedy. She grew up in a loving family with three siblings: Jerry Jr., Mildred, and Franklin. From a young age, it was clear that Juanita possessed a feisty and strong-willed nature that would shape her life.
In pursuit of her aspirations, Juanita packed her bags and ventured to California, where she embraced a new chapter of her life as a dedicated schoolteacher. Little did she know that her path would lead her to a fateful encounter with John Jones, a charming man who would soon become her loving husband. Together, they built a beautiful family and were blessed with a son named Courtney.
As a mother, Juanita was dedicated, loving, and fiercely protective of her family. She cherished her role as a mother and embraced the joys and challenges that came with it. In time, Juanita became a grandmother, and her grandson, Oscar, brought immense joy and fulfillment into her life. She cherished every moment spent with Oscar and took great pride in being his grandmother.
Beyond her immediate family, Juanita was also an aunt to many nieces and nephews including her favorite grandniece, Angie. She played an active role in their lives, always offering support, guidance, and a good dose of humor. Her wittiness and funny nature made her a beloved aunt who could always put a smile on their faces.
Throughout her life, Juanita was known for her strong will and determination. She faced challenges head-on and never backed down from what she believed in. Her feistiness was balanced by her sense of humor, which brought lightness and laughter to those around her.
Juanita Jones lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a passion for education. She touched the lives of many as a teacher, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, a friend, and an aunt. Her strength of character and vibrant personality left an indelible mark on all who knew her.

A visitation for Juanita will be held Saturday, July 22, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, 1401 S Grand Ave, Glendora, CA 91740, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
