Lawrence R. Legind

Larry was born October 13, 1956 in Valdosta, Georgia. He spent most of his childhood in Covina, CA with his mother, Shirley Fry Legind, currently of Covina and his father, Larry T. Legind, currently of Hesperia and his four brothers, Dennis, Craig, Carl, and Tom. He was married to Janet Troffer in 2006. He has four adult daughters, Carissa Brandt, Kaytie Stachurski, Mary Dobbins, and Brianna Legind.

Larry went to Royal Oak High School class of ‘74. He graduated from Bethany Bible College in Santa Cruz. He loved Jesus and baseball. Larry was a youth pastor in Santa Maria, Ca., and he played baseball in the minor leagues for the Anaheim Angles and the San Francisco Giants. Larry was an avid hunter. He especially enjoyed duck hunting at Salton Sea.

For the past year and a half, Larry was an associate pastor at United in Him Christian Fellowship. He was a gifted teacher of the Word. He was fascinated with the Hebrew language, studied it, and taught it to those who wanted to learn.

Larry is survived by his wife, Janet; his daughters and sons-in-law, Carissa and Corey Brandt, Kaytie and Josh Stachurski, Mary Dobbins, and Brianna Legind; his grandchildren, Sawyer, Ezra, Phoenix, Avery, Elias, River, and Daphne; his parents Shirley Legind and Larry T. Legind; his brothers and sisters-in-law Dennis, Craig and Bonny, Carl and Leanne, and Tom; his nephews and nieces Paul, Jennifer, Kimberley, Aimee, Johnathan, Ava, Marcus, Nevaeh, Cohen, Nolan, and Fin.
