After a long battle with cancer and surrounded by her family, Lillian Bidetti Patterson Williams passed away on December 11, 2020. Lillian was born in Brooklyn, New York to Dominic and Anna Bidetti. The youngest of five children, Lillian has survived them all, Margaret Bidetti, Michael Bidetti, Marie Agate and Rose LaMarca. Lillian moved from Brooklyn to Los Angeles in the early 1950s where she attended high school and met John Waldo Patterson. They were married in 1952 and had four children, John Michael Patterson (Tami) of Beaumont, Linda Mikita of Glendora, Stephanie Patterson (Terry) of Glendora and Robert Patterson (Mary) of San Bernardino. John and Lillian were married thirty four years, until the death of John in 1986. Three years later, Lillian married Richard Williams. They were married until Richard’s death in 2013. Lillian took great pride that she had worked everyday of her adult life. She was a bookkeeper, accounts manager, skip tracer, office manager and general Girl Friday. She also took great pleasure in her volunteer work, which spanned decades. She volunteered to benefit the Sierra Recreation Program, Crippled Children’s Society, Covina Food Bank, and Bargain Box, and the Gift Shop at Inter-Community Hospital where she received special recognition for serving over 500 hours. Her favorite service was for the California Franchise Tax Board at the West Covina Senior Center. Each tax season for six years she completed Homeowner and Rental Assistance forms for the elderly, so they could receive funds from the State of California. She also took delight in finding money for people, sometimes strangers, from the State of California Unclaimed Property. Lillian loved reading, shopping in thrift stores and yard sales. She completed more than 30 large pieces of needlepoint and gave them away as gifts. Lillian is survived by her four children, seven grandchildren (Jennifer Sturgeon, Julie Patterson, Michael Mikita, III, Anjela Wade, Bianca Patterson, Nathan Patterson and John Patterson, II. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren (Trent Mikita-Wade, Lestat Wade, Brian Sturgeon, Raegan Patterson, Gwen Sturgeon, Lucian Wade and Jack Sturgeon). Lillian touched many lives and was known for her warmth and charm. She was witty and charming, sweet and sexy, yet cool and calculating. She was fun and vivacious and very generous, especially with her avocados. She was affectionate and adored and will be dearly missed.
