Lucrecia was born the third child of Margarita and Wulfrano Ugalde in El Paso, Texas. She grew up in a busy home with four sisters and two brothers in El Paso, Texas. Family caring for family was important in the Ugalde home, so she spent a great amount of time with her Aunt Tila and cousin Mary caring for her younger siblings. She liked to talk about her school days and her time with her sisters and brothers.
She married Ildeliso Vallin 49 years ago and cared for her five children in their home in Los Angeles, California. Her priorities were caring for her children and making sure that they kept up with all schoolwork. She enjoyed sewing, baking, walking with friends, visiting family and attending mass.

Lucrecia will be fondly remembered by her husband, Ildeliso Vallin, her five children (Joseph, Francisco, Florencia, Margarita, and Gabriel), their partners (Christina, Mindy, Gabriel, Jeremy and Anna), her eight grandchildren (Elise, Natalia, Isabella, Joseph, Patricia, Katalina, Kassandra, and Mateo), surviving sisters (Esther Copeland, Angelina Colunga, and Leonor Nunez) and brother (Juan Ugalde), and other family and friends.
