I remember the last time we talk, dad.  It was to share many things about my mom, my mental health, my substance abuse, and my marriage.  It was one of the few times I recall of recent memory where I spilled my guts out.  You listened. And I thank you for that.  A few months later you'd pass away unexpectedly.  At least, I did have that positive memory that I won't ever forget.  I hope you were able to find my mother and your parents up in heaven.  Much love.  Your family misses you.

Hey dad...thinking about you today and many other days. Thinking about you and mom. Remembering the last time we spoke. It was a good talk. I know things changed between us and we weren't ever fully to reconnect, but that talk we had back in August 2017 was really healing and I'm glad I had the opportunity to reconnect with you at that moment. While I wish things could've been different, I'm glad our last memories were positive. Im grateful for that and the impressions and impacts you had on everyone around you. We'll be celebrating you this Friday, your life and joy you brought to everyone you knew.

Tio Luis, you will forever be missed. You were always fun, energetic and very loving in your reserved special way.  Until we meet again in heaven. Say hello to all the family already their waiting for us.
