Maricela, Carlos and Trish and I (Luis M.) used to go on double dates and vacation trips.  Maricela was a nice and perfect hostess, always catering to her guests. Niceness was Maricela’s calling card. In all the time I knew Maricela we never had cross words, an argument or a disagreement. Maricela was very supportive of me when I argued with Trish, comforting me and basically taking my side and making me feel better. I recently talked to Trish now my ex-wife, letting her know of Maricela’s passing.  Trish reminisced how Maricela was very supportive of her when Trish and I argued, taking her side and making her feel better. “WAIT!!” I said,  “taking your side?? Naw, she always took my side! You were always wrong!”  “No” said my ex wife, “You were always wrong, not me!!!”…. Niceness, Maricela’s calling card, taking both sides and  making us  both, feel better. We’ll miss her.

This exchange defines our friendship and the quality of our time when together.   And now, sister girlfriend is where she needs to be.

Maricela, I miss you so much already.  It's hard to accept that I will never see you again and that I will never see that beautiful smile and those loving eyes in person again, but I will always remember your  smiling face full  of genuine happiness and love every time you greeted me and the rest of our friends... we all always felt that love  from you.  I know that you are in heaven now and that you are at peace.  You will always be in my heart and in the hearts of all our friends.  I'm sure of it.
