Paul was born on June 22, 1945, in Mulberry, Arkansas, to Herman Dee Garland of Cedar Point, Howard, Arkansas, and Baby Sue Fisher of Mulberry, Arkansas. He was the youngest of three sons and was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jerry Garland of Wyoming and Billy Garland of Russellville, Arkansas. Paul graduated from Glendora High School in 1964.
A hardworking and dedicated man, Paul built a successful business, Paul’s Pool Service, where he served his community with pride and integrity. His passion for his work was matched only by his love for basketball, a sport he enjoyed both as a player and a devoted fan.
Above all, Paul was a man of faith. His love for God guided his life, and he was unwavering in his dedication to his beliefs, sharing kindness, wisdom, and encouragement with those around him.
Paul is survived by his three children: Darlene Coleman (husband Sean) of Granville, Illinois; Susan Jesse (husband John) of Eagle, Wisconsin; and Bryan Garland (wife Samantha) of San Dimas, California. He was a beloved grandfather to Amanda, Jamee, Joel, Bryce, Jaylene, Jarrid, Jeremy, Baby, Corrina, and Emily, as well as bonus grandchildren Christopher, Madison, Torri, and Olivia. He was also blessed with 11 great-grandchildren who brought him endless joy.
Paul T. Garland will be deeply missed but forever remembered for his hard work, love for his family, devotion to God, and his passion for basketball. His legacy lives on in the lives of those he touched.
“Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven.” -Luke 6:23
