I'm the eighth child of the family he 
so loved.
He would always refer to me as
The Baby Girl.
I recollect the moment when I shared my Mother's Day gift with him one year
of a hand carved clay figurine that my daughter had made for me of Snoopy
with a cowboy hat and a pistol and he replied, "Atta  Boy Cowboy!"
Undoubtably my love for westerns came from him.
I also remember when we went to work with him one day and being marveled
at the new constructed homes with their sparkling chandeliers and beautiful kitchen cabinetry.
Last but not least, I could  picture  him
now as he was waiting next to the bank of america as Ruth and I were picking him up from returning from his vacation
to Mexico after visiting his parents.
He looked so endearing with one hand clutch on his suitcase and the other with a bag from Mexico bringing us back 
bricks of coconut candy which he did
everytime he went. He was always so mindful of us.
I'm so thankful to have had his approval
of my engagement to my husband now
of nearly 30 years.
I'm honored to have had you as my 
Daddy.
Your presence will be forever missed.

There is more to be said about my wonderful dad. On one of the valentines he went out and bought us girls (Kathy, Angie, Lydia and I a box of chocolate candy in a heart shape box, we were so surprised.  He always looked out for us was always concern of where we were going when we went out. I thank my God for such a wonderful dad, I will Love him always and will see him again.

My grandpa will be missed and my family loved him very much he got to hold his grandbabies and always tell me to be gentle with them. Every time I see my grandpa I say Grandpa how are you doing he said Viejo Arrugado but he kept on going moving forward. He would tell me riddles when I was little he'd be watching the news and I would get up and he would turn off the news and put on Popeye for me to watch before he went to work. I remember when I was probably about 5 the neighbor had a problem in their backyard and my grandpa grabbed the fence hopped it like it was nothing and went over and helped them in San dimas. My grandma and Grandma had a plethora of fruit trees in the backyard when I was little lemons peaches apples apricots and I ate them all. I always seen the way my grandpa worked hard and I wanted to emulate that in my life to work hard to take care of your family and to grow old. You will be missed my grandpa I love you we all love you myself Vicky summer Richie Naomi Rochelle Brooklyn and Kaytlin.

My fondness memories of Dad was always our conversations whether we were sitting at the table or out for a drive.
Our conversations always started with”you know son”,
Dad was really easy to talk with.
(I miss our time together)
Dad instilled in me the hard work ethic, that he himself emulated daily as I was growing up.
Dad always loved to share the word of God.
I would say that Dad lived the Old Testament verse in Micah 6:8

He hath shewed thee, O man,
What is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.

Dad you are greatly missed; I thank God for letting us have you with us for so long.

My Dad was mechanically inclined.  He was a self taught man.  He had a good voice and loved to sing.  He was a good cook and  enjoyed preparing a tasty meal that he always shared with me.  He was the one who would make menudo for the family and prepare the masa for tamales.  When visiting Mexico, in my youth, I saw my Dad's talent and ability to make his horse dance while riding on it.  He also shared his skill doing lasso tricks.  We enjoyed watching wrestling together. 

My Dad was kind hearted.  He showed his love by his actions.  He taught me what was right and wrong.  He would read the Bible to us and tell us Bible stories.  He taught me much about gardening.  My Dad was always thoughtful.  He really cared for his family and others.  I really love my Dad and miss him so much.  One day I will see him in heaven.

My Dad was always kind and he was not selfish.  While my Dad lived with us, he always shared his food and things with us.  He loved watching western movies in Spanish and in English.  He also watched faith movies.  Our Dad loved us all very much.  He was a good father and an example to us all.  God gave us a good father.  We will not forget him.

I remembered my Dad helping me in junior high with my math.  He was a man of many skills:  landscaper, gardener, masonry, etc...  He was very resourceful and he able to figure out ways to build or repair whatever he put his mind to do.  He had a sense of humor and taught us riddles and jokes that we and his grandson memorized in Spanish.  He was a man of faith.  He loved to learn: always posing mathematical questions to us.  He loved reading books, Spanish and English.  I enjoyed my vacation time with my Dad while visiting in Chicago.  My Dad lived with us for twenty-eight years after Mom's death.  I thank God for the many years I had  the blessing of knowing my Dad and learning many valuable lessons.  I will greatly miss him, but I know I will see him again in our heavenly Father's kingdom.

My Daddy leaves eight children, six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great- great-grandson.  He was wise and intelligent.  He was the sole provider growing up, raising nine children and every new school year, we would all get new clothes for school.  He was thrift in his finances and we never went hungry.  He loved reading la "Historia Sagrada," a religious book his mother had given him.  He was a man of faith.  He would question us on who were the twelve tribes of Israel and other Bible events.  He demonstrated unconditional love towards his family.  He was kind and generous.  When I got my driver's license, he bought me my first car and a second one when I was an adult.  He had strong convictions: a man of integrity.  He was a very hard worker which taught us work ethics.  He would tell us of his beloved horse, la yegua colorada.  He was our friend and we were his.  

I remember my dad always telling me stories of his childhood, and saying riddles. He would test us on history and math, I usually got it wrong but he always had the answer.  He was loving and caring and at times funny. He will be greatly missed.

I would like to give my condolences to everyone. I pray all of you have peace and love in these trying times. I am sure your dad is in a happier place with our Father in heaven. God bless you all.
