Mesha' and Cody,

You both know that Richard loved you more than life itself.  Anyone who knew him, knew that his family was his greatest joy.  I hope that all the great memories you have will help you get through the difficult days.  There will be many of those days, but together, you two can overcome the hurt and learn a new normal - that gives you new memories and joy to add to the old.  Richard is and will be forever missed, but know that we are always here for you.

I want to thank Richard for making my daughter happier than I ever could.  He gave her and Cody a wonderful life and always put them first.  I can't imagine what my daughter is going though but I went though this with my son, Travis also and the pain is unbearable for us all.  I send my love to the entire family and pray for them all every day. Mom

How do I say good bye to my best friend?  I love you Richard and I will always love you.  You have been and will always be the best part of me.  We shared a wonderful life together and I am thankful for every minute. I know you will never leave me and I look forward to seeing you again. Richard, My loving and honorable little big brother,Forever in my heart and soul you will be greatly missed, All 47 years was a blessing to have you in my life, I have treasured so many memories of us through out the 47 years and 17 years of your marriage with Mesha and cody, One memory is when you, mesha, cody, baily, and I were in your boat @ lake havasu ,a boat cut in front of us and you had to cut of the gas throttle completely and baily went sliding down the fornt of the boat and into the lake , I ran to the front of the boat and dove into the water to rescue baily, she had her life jacket on , love you brother

To the Heaverly family. I just wanted to tell you what an honor it was to participate in Deputy Heverly's memorial service.  Even though our badges say different things, we still belong to the same public safety family and I would not be able to do my job as a firefighter if it wasn't for law enforcement officers like Richard putting themselves between us and harms way to ensure everyone is safe.  Myself and my fellow firefighters will always be grateful and indebted to him and to your family.  On behalf of myself, the Local 935 Professional Firefighters Pipes and Drums band, and the entire membership of Local 935,we offer our condolences and want you to know that your family extends beyond law enforcement to Deputy Heverly's brothers and sisters in the fire department as well.

Hey Hev, our last Trans run was a smooth one. I still can't believe we drove the bus through Summit Valley to get to the 138 when the bridge on the 15 burned down. I won't do that again. Dear Rich and Family,
Thank you for always being there for us and helping Kasen have a second family that he feels extremely close to. Thank you for taking the boys surfing and making early morning pancake breakfast. Kasen still talks about how nice and cool you and your family are. We will have your back and return the favor. You will be missed and forever thought about.

Mesha and family, I hate that you have to go through this because I know how difficult this is and how it will affect the rest of your life!  Please know that the rest of the family is here for you and we know how to help each other!  I wish I could make this easier but can't.  We love you all and stay strong and keep the faith!

I just wanted to say thanks if i never had. Thanks for being there when I needed a roommate after my dad passed (even though most said it wouldn't work out). Thanks for sharing the good and bad over the years. Thanks for always having the right tool for the job (loved working out in the garage with you). Thanks for being there when I got married and thanks for letting me share in your wedding. Thanks for always sharing your family with mine. You are a wonderful friend a loving husband and an outstanding father. I'm going to miss you brother...
