Our beautiful mom is survived by her mother; Francisca Valdez, her brother; Luis Valdez, her four children; Gladys, Janette, Yesenia and Armando, and her grandchildren; Serenity, Isabella, Leon, Cassidy, and Emilio. She has joined her grand-baby Miguel Efren, her dad Emilio Rogelio, and several other family members in heaven.
“Momma chula”, as I liked to consertila, was our light. Her smile and laughter filled any room with rays of sunshine. Her faith in our Lord was the cornerstone of our family. She taught us to love God and to fear Him at the same time. Momma chula loved everyone and her heart didn't know how to hold resentment. Our momma was forgiving and showed us what unconditional love should look like.
Our sweet and tenderly “má”, as Yesenia called her, was always there whenever we needed her. She dedicated her life to caring for our Grammy, and her grandchildren, and to pouring blessings over my siblings and me day and night. If you followed her Facebook posts, then you'll know she woke up every morning blessing her family and friends, as well as, ending her day with a cute post of a bird singing with an evening prayer for a good night's rest.
Janette called her "moms". Moms was simply the most caring, compassionate, and loving human being. Her generosity extended across the world to causes in which she believed. Mom’s heartfelt donations touched many lives. She believed in helping others and truly enjoyed sharing her blessings with everyone.
Mom, as Armando called her, said it best. Our mom was a bucket filler. She always knew how to uplift our spirits. Mom had the right words for us whenever we were sad. She knew how to brighten our day and always ended with a "Don't worry mija/mijo. Todo a que dejarselo en las manos de mi Dios Padre".
Momma's flight to Heaven has left us deeply broken and full of sorrow. She was ready to "Fly Away Home" but our hearts were not prepared to see her go. Although we are left grieving–our sadness is her eternal happiness. We are comforted by our reunion in Heaven and until that day…momma, we will honor you by continuing your legacy. We will fill people's buckets and hopefully make those around us feel as special as you made us feel. We love you, momma! Y nuestro amor nunca tendra fin. Que descanse en paz mamita chula y que la Luz Perpetua brille para usted por toda eternidad.
