Kenneth William Henderson (68) Was born Monday, March 22, 1948 into the McCrory, Arkansas home of William Even and Fern Pauline Henderson. He passed away Wednesday morning, July 6, 2016 in Grand Coulee, Washington. Ken wore various hats during his working career: working in the forests of Western Washington State cutting shake blocks, as a Custodian and Boiler-Man for the Tacoma School District and as a Maintenance Tech for the Department of Natural Resources in Forks, Washington. Ken moved to the Grand Coulee, Washington area in 1987. An active member of the Grand Coulee Eagles Lodge #2577 for over 20 years, where he loved to call bingo, Ken enjoyed the simpler things in life – “After reading the morning paper and finishing his Morning Cup of Coffee.” One who could always be counted on to offer a cheerful word and lend a helping hand to friend and stranger alike, Ken enjoyed fishing and watching the Seahawks, Atlanta Braves & Seattle Mariners play. Ken loved all sports, but none gave him greater pleasure then when it involved his family, as when he coached his son in Little League and Junior League Baseball or later when he would shout till his throat was hoarse cheering during his grandchildren’s games.
Predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law: Ethel & Wilie Capshaw and former wife: Sharon Henderson; Ken’s legacy lives on through his son: Bill Henderson (Jennifer); daughter: Kathy Wooley (Tim) and grandchildren: Alexandria Henderson, Sydney Henderson and Eli Wooley.
At Ken’s request cremation has taken place. All are invited to a celebration of his life to be held Saturday, July 23rd, 2016 at 1:00pm in the Eagles Lodge, 122 B Street, Grand Coulee, WA 99133.
