

He was a retired brick mason, dairy farmer, and current beef farmer.
Mr. Johnson was a founding member of Debusk Volunteer Fire Dept. and a lifetime member of Debusk Ruritan. He was a longtime horseman and was active in the walking and racking industry. His other hobbies included spending time outdoors on his farm and at his cabin, playing Rook at the Rook House and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 60 years: Shelby Johnson; two sons and daughters-in-law: Randy and Enola Johnson and Ricky and Lisa Johnson; two special foster daughters: Sheerie King and husband, Bryan, Cindy Arrington and husband, Don; grandchildren: Chris, Joshua, Brandon and Morgan Johnson, Jordan and Emily Cheek, Alex Shaver, Dustin and Carrie Knipp, Dylan and Hannah Trantham; great grandchildren: Abigail Johnson, Ryder Tuggle, Tristan Knipp, Thornton and Owen Shaver; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late Doak and Gladys Johnson and was preceded in death by sisters: Maureen Weems, Frances Hagaons and Helen Smith; and brothers: Charlie Bill and Grover Johnson.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held 1 pm Friday in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Dave Abbey and Rev. Brad Higgins officiating.
Interment will follow at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Ray Weems, Charles Johnson, Terry Johnson, David Smith, Phillip Kelley and Jeff Kelley.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Seaton, Lyman Seaton, Frankie Seaton, Claude Hurd, Glen Campbell, Keith Love, Jim Wilhoit, Larry Huffstutler, Jimmy Weemes, Don Johnson, Jimmy Charles Creecy, Roger Johnson, Steve Johnson and his friends at the Rook House.
The family wished to express a special thanks to Dr. Charles Montgomery, Dr. Anil Tumkur, Dr. Mandeep Bakshi and their staffs, and to the staff of Caris Hospice.
