Beverly Addeen "Bev" Barwick (née Harrison), age 81, passed away on March 21, 2025, at her home in Greeneville, Tennessee after a recent serious illness. Born on April 24, 1943, in Charlotte, North Carolina, Beverly lived a life marked by devotion to faith, family, and country.
She retired as a Budget Analyst for the U.S. Forest Service, Southern Research Station in Asheville, North Carolina, after 30 years of government service. Her career allowed her to travel extensively while auditing stations throughout the Southeast and the Pacific Northwest. Her meticulous work and dedication left a lasting impact on colleagues and the agency alike.
Beyond her professional life, Beverly was an avid reader with an extensive personal library. She found joy in antiquing, traveling, and spending time at both her mountain home and the beach—where she delighted in collecting seashells. A passionate patriot, Beverly strongly believed in individual liberty and the sovereignty of the United States. She was deeply involved in civic organizations, serving as a past president of the Greene County Republican Women’s Club and an active member of both the Ruritan Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Beverly’s belief in God played a central role in her life. A woman of deep abiding faith, she attended Harris Memorial Free Will Baptist Church in Greeneville until her health began to decline. Within this faith-based community, she found strength, fellowship, and lasting friendships.
Above all else, Beverly cherished time spent with family. She adored and is survived by her husband of 14 and a half years, William Francis “Frank” Barwick; her daughter Robyn Hyde Michalove (Roddy) of Greeneville, TN; and her son Paul Wesley “Wes” McFarland Jr. (June) of Myrtle Beach, SC; her stepdaughters, Samantha Foxworth (Jeff) of Georgetown, SC; Erin Vincent (Richard) of Greeneville, TN; Stephanie Belt (Joe) of Greeneville, TN; Holly Barwick (Eli) of Phoenix, AZ; and Emily Barwick of Greeneville, TN.
She also found great joy in her grandchildren, Benjamin Michalove (Julie); Nathaniel Michalove (Jennifer); David Michalove (Kelly); Stone McFarland; Salem McFarland; Blaine Cherry; Ava Grace Foxworth; Gabriel Vincent; Jade Vincent; Seeley Belt; Asher Belt; Rosie Harris; Lorelei Harris; Darby Hillis and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Madison Houston Harrison and Addeen Lyon Reid Harrison.
