

He was an installer of heating and air conditioning units.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years: Debra Carpenter of Chuckey; two daughters: Shanda (Mark) Richards of Greeneville and Brandi (Daniel) Rimer; one son: B.J. Poole; a brother: Teddy Carpenter (Darlene Scalf) of Chuckey; a sister: Carolyn (Phil) Effler of Greeneville; six grandchildren: Kiahya Githens, Korben Githens, Hadyen Gene Richards, Maddex Rimer,Gabby Early, Delylah Rimer; several nieces and nephews; favorite mother-in-law: Betty Ottinger; and his favorite companion: Jodi.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Joe and Virgie Carpenter; and a brother and his wife: Larry and Ethel Carpenter.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 8pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Larry Moore officiating.
Interment will be at 10am Saturday at Union Chapel Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 9am Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Al Price, Connie Bailey, Robert Bailey, Chris Hensley, Tim Tweed, and Donnie Smith.
Honorary pallbearers are his friends from Fergusons and Johnstone, Jerry and Jenny Scalf, and all his friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
