

Charles D. Crum, age 90, of Greene County, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Greeneville Community Hospital. He worked at Greeneville Light and Power for 59 years. Charlie also enjoyed his 10 years working as a tour director for Greene Coach. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Charlie was a kind and gentle individual who always thought of others and was loved by many. He loved baseball, especially the Atlanta Braves, and NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years: Frances Crum; a son: Alan Crum; sister-in-law: Wilma Tweed; brothers-in-law: Everett (Sharon) Hale, Roger Hale, Charles Helbert and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is also survived by his extended family of the employees and retirees of Greeneville Light and Power.
He is preceded in death by his mother: Clyde Crum; father and mother-in-law: Jim and Tilda Hale; a brother: Cecil Ray Crum; sister-in-law: Mary Katherine Crum; sister: Madeline Kelley; brother-in-law: Herbert Kelley; sisters-in-law: Jean Warren, and her husband Bill, and sister-in-law, Barbara Helbert; brother-in-law: Curley Tweed
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the service following at 8:00 pm in the chapel. Rev. Jim Fillers will officiate. Interment will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 1:00 pm Wednesday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
Honorary pallbearers will be the employees and retirees of Greeneville Light and Power as well as his plethora of friends and neighbors.
The family would like to extend their deepest appreciation towards Greeneville Community Hospital and Life Care Center of Greeneville for their excellent treatment of Charlie.
