He was a retired purchasing agent for Greeneville Light and Power.
Mr. Creamer was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where he served as Treasurer for 25 years.
He was a devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather.
He was an avid Greeneville basketball and football fan.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years: Elsie Brooks Creamer; a daughter and son-in-law: Linda and Darwin Kilday of Morristown; son and daughter-in-law: Tommy and Connie Creamer of Bristol, TN; four grandchildren: Allison McCown and spouse Shane of Johnson City, Adam Creamer of Clovis, California, Derek Kilday and spouse Rebecca of Chattanooga, Drew Kilday of Columbia, South Carolina; great grandson: Reed Thomas McCown of Johnson City; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Gladys and Glenn Renner, Mary Waddle, J.C. Brooks, and Christine Brooks of Greeneville; several nieces and nephews.
He was a son of the late Talley and Bessie Broyles Creamer and was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Creamer.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 17, 2011, at the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Jeannie Higgins, Rev. Charles Starks, and Rev. David Woody will officiate. Interment will at 1:00 p.m. Friday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Gene Wells II, Orland Britton, Lamar Neas, Charles Avery, Gene Johnson, James Davis, Charles Worley, and Terry Leonard.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Bible Class of Asbury United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home preceding the funeral service. It is requested that family and friends meet at 12:15 p.m. Friday to go in procession to the committal service. Memorials may be made to Asbury United Methodist Church, 201 S. Main St., Greeneville, TN 34443. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Laughlin Health Care Center, staff of Caris Hospice, and to Mr. Creamers’ special caregivers, Gail Ricker, Maxine Lowery Jones, and Phyllis Hoskins.
