

Mr. Kirk attended Jackson’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, where he was a member, trustee, and Sunday School Superintendent for many years, as well as a member of the Jackson’s Chapel Quartet.
He retired from Greene County Highway Department and was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years: Willie Kate Inscore Kirk; son: Billy Joe Kirk of Orebank; three daughters and sons-in-law: Helen and Hal Cox of Morristown, Sue and Michael Seahorn of Sevierville, and Gail and Mack Farley of Orebank; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister: Edith Henry of Midway.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Von and Ethel Knight Kirk, seven brothers, one sister, one daughter-in-law, Linda Kirk, and one son-in-law, Hal Ward.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, September 7, 2015, at Jackson’s Chapel Church with Rev. Jeff Blake and Rev. Hal Kirk officiating. The body will lie in state for 30 minutes at the church preceding the funeral service.
Interment will follow in Jackson’s Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Jimmy Kirk, Jonathan Cox, Robbie Seahorn, Mark Ward, Chris Ward, and Joshua Ward; and his great grandsons: Jordan and Dustin Kirk.
