He retired from the Greeneville Water Commission and also sold go-kart parts.

He was a member of Carpenters Chapel Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Collins is survived by his wife: Elsie Collins; one son: Stevie Collins; three step-children: Bill Woody Jr. and wife, Misty, of Georgia, Susan Farley of Johnson City, Chris Taylor and wife, Starr, of Greeneville; two adoptive daughters: Tiffany Collins and Brilhey Collins; nine step-grandchildren; three step-great grandchildren; four sisters and one brother-in-law: Annie and Ronnie McAmis of Mosheim, Georgie Crititen of Baileyton, Eula McCurrey of Baileyton, Jewel Shaw of Baileyton; one brother: Donnie Collins of Baileyton; several nieces and nephews; and special friends: Gregg and Cathy Miller; as well as his church family.

He was preceded in death by one son, Jimmy Collins; his parents: James and Rena Collins; one brother: Chester Collins; and one sister: Ruth Crititen.

The family will receive friends on Monday, May 13th from 2-4 and from 6-8pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will follow at 8:00pm in the funeral home chapel with the reverends Sonny Beaver and Donald Lynn Swatzell officiating.

The graveside service will be conducted on Tuesday, May 14 at 10:00am at Carters Station Cemetery at Albany. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:00am Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tony Jones, Bobby Knight, Chris Taylor, Eugene Britton, Marty Southerland, Cody Collins, Snide Hensley and Matthew Collins.

Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Carpenters Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and the employees of the Greeneville Water Department.
