
He retired from Magnavox after 30 years and was a member of Community Fellowship Church.
Survivors include many beloved nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law: Sharmalee Gosnell of Erwin; Evelyn Gosnell of Cincinnati, OH; best friend: Cecil Self of Greeneville; many close friends: Geraldine Gibson, Paul and Peggy Harris, Hazel and Cloyd Cutshaw, Guy V. and Myrtle Morgan, Kenneth Gosnell, Hubert and Doris Metcalf, Geneva and Joe Walton all of Greeneville; and many other friends too numerous to mention.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Laura Gosnell; seven brothers: Lawrence, Charles, Warner, James, Johnny, Buster and Edgar Gosnell and one sister, Roxie Chandler.
The funeral service will be at 8 pm Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel.
Rev. Hubert Metcalf and Rev. Joe Walton will officiate. Interment will be 10 am Wednesday at Andrew Johnson National Cemetery. The Greene County Honor Guard and the Tennessee National Guard will conduct a military graveside service.
Pallbearers will be Robert Tweed, Mike Greene, Zane Davis, Richard Cutshall, Bill Chandler and Kody Lemons.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Collins, Joe Chandler, Orville Gosnell and Kenneth Gosnell.
The family wishes to express special thanks to Dr. Michael Odell and Wanda Foulks for years of friendship and care.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday preceding the funeral service.
