

He moved to Greeneville from Jackson, MS in the spring of 2007. He was a member of First Christian Church, Greeneville, TN.
He was born June 27, 1926 in Dallas, TX and spent his childhood and formative years living throughout the state of Texas. He served in the armed services at the end of WWII and then graduated with a veterinary degree from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX in 1951. Early on he practiced veterinary medicine in Dallas before moving to Jackson, MS in 1953. The majority of his 45 year veterinary career was spent funning the Northside Pet Clinic in Jackson, MS which he founded in 1963.
He married his wife, Patsy Converse Tillery on March 25, 1955. They were a few days short of their 40th anniversary when she passed away on March 14, 1995. Along with his family, his loves in life were animals and travel.
His survivors are his son and daughter-in-law: Joey and Terry Tillery of Greeneville, TN; daughter and son-in-law: Liesa and Jeffrey Blalock; a brother and sister-in-law, Pat and Linda Tillery of Pensacola, FL; nephew and his wife: Greg and Stephanie Tillery of Pensacola, FL; life-long friend: Mary Beth Burns of Jackson, MS and seven grandchildren: Wil Blalock, Jessica Blalock and Kayley Blalock of Arcadia, CA and Joseph Tillery, Josh Tillery, Jake Tillery and Jackson Tillery of Greeneville, TN.
In addition to his wife, Patsy Tillery, he is preceded in death by his parents, Joe B. Tillery, Sr. and Grace Martin Tillery.
The family will receive friends Saturday, April 10th from 9-11 am at Lakewood Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Jackson, MS with a funeral service at 11:00 am in the Lakewood Chapel. The Rev. Joey Tillery will officiate. Interment will immediately follow in the Lakewood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Blalock, Wil Blalock, Joseph Tillery, Josh Tillery, Pat Tillery and Greg Tillery.
Local arrangements have been made though Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home in Greeneville, TN.
