He was a retired farmer and a Baptist by faith.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years: Shirley Church; brothers and sisters-in-law: Hal and Linda Lane, George Lane, Phyllis Johnson, and Linda Lane of Greeneville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews including a special niece: Tammy Greene of Bulls Gap.
He was the son of the late Hendrix and Matilda Hensley Church and was preceded in death by two brothers and an infant sister.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2011 in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Buster Shelton and Rev. Eddie Malone officiating.
Interment will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery.
The pallbearers are Justin Lane, Andy Greene, Kevin Greene, Chris Johnson, Wendell Bailey, and Briana Cogburn.
The honorary pallbearers are Wayne and Edith Church.
