He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Irene Walton Sams; his daughter, Callie Ewing; stepson, Cameron Walton; a brother, Dwight Sams of Marshall, NC; three grandsons, Nolan Walton, Luca Walton, and Malachi Ewing; one granddaughter, Mara Ewing; two nieces, Jessica and Shannon Sams; a mother-in-law, Elloise Jones; and a sister-in-law Angela Walton. Kevin is also survived by his special friends J.B. Bowers and Chester Keasling; and his heart and soul, his dog, Trigger.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Rosa Lee Sams; his brother, Blare Sams; and sister, Sheila Hemel.
Kevin was an inspiration to us all and he never met a stranger. He will be sadly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
