

He attended Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church as long as his health permitted. He was retired from Greene Valley Dev. Center. He loved to play and teach kids to play softball.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years: Carolyn Wilhoit Brooks; two brothers: Wayne Brooks, Lynn (Darlene) Brooks; special niece: Jeanine Franklin; sisters-in-law: Jeanetta Sexton, Frances (Gary) Gridley, Patricia (Lenten) Taylor, Janice Wilhoit and brother-in-law: J H (Cindy) Wilhoit; special nieces and nephews: Shawn, Jason, Randy and Brian Brooks, Valerie Gonzalez, Stephanie Brobeck, Buffie Shepherd, Jessica Taylor, Brian Gridley, Dr. Patrick Taylor, several special great and great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Harold and special mother Carrie Brooks, nephew: Mark Brooks and brother-in-law: Kenneth Sexton; his father and mother-in-law: Jess and Glenice Wilhoit.
There will be a graveside service on Saturday, March 19, 2022 at 2:30 pm at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens with Rev. Billy Gragg officiating. Friends are asked to meet at the cemetery for the graveside service.
Pallbearers will be: Dr. Patrick Taylor, Cody Shipley, Jacob Lawrence, Brian Gridley, Joe Gonzalez, Ben Gridley, Zachery Shepherd, Ethan Lawrence, Shawn, Jason, Randy and Brian Brooks, and Jimmy Shepherd.
Honorary pallbearers are: Crusaders Class of Oak Grove FWB Church, Bobby Shipley, Lewis Stroud, Lowell Easterly and Dr. Maynard Austin.
