

He was retired from Ford Motor Company.
Louis will be missed by all who knew him. He had a loving spirit and a great sense of humor.
He loved traveling around the country, visiting all 50 states with his beloved wife, Melba. He enjoyed following the Nascar circuit “Go Petty”. Louis was a loving son, father, grandfather and brother.
He left behind his beloved wife of 63 years, Melba Presswood Effler; two sons: Bernard Effler and wife, Patricia, of Shreveport, LA, Lewis Clarence Effler and wife, Mary, of Hamel, IL; a daughter: Cindy Lou Rand and husband, Gary, Perris, CA; six grandchildren Elena Hassan, Natasha Estrada, Krystil Effler, Lucas Effler, Brandon Effler, and Andrew Effler; six great grandchildren: Victoria, Erica, Rafe, Drake, Tobias, Evie; two brothers: Jerald Effler and wife, Shirley, David Effler and wife, Nancy; a sister: Eula Pickering; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the son of the late John Clifford Effler and Mae Slagle Effler.
The family will receive friends 4-6 pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life will follow visitation at 6 pm in the funeral home chapel.
Interment will be at 11:30 am Thursday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at 10:30 am Thursday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery for the committal service.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Effler, Jerry Effler, Benny Effler, Lucas Effler, Gary Girard and Paul Rollins.
Dwayne Pickering will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
